ACOUSTIC DETECTING METHOD FOR BUBBLES FROM SHALLOW GAS TO SEA WATER

  • In view of acoustic plumes of bubbles in the sea water from shallow gas that were found by marine surveying instruments in some areas of the South Yellow Sea, and based on the strong scattering formed by non-linear vibration when bubbles resonate in the water,we calculated the resonance frequency of common bubbles that seeped from shallow gas in the offshore area and the bubble sizes detected by various surveying instruments at different depths, and outlined ranges of the bubbles from shallow gas found with different instruments. Then, according to the pattern of bubble change and movement in the water, we raised acoustic features that bubbles should have when seeping from shallow gas, removed other possible factors that could form the characteristic reflections in the South Yellow Sea, and discussed the possible cause for cloudy turbidity recorded in the seismic section.
