Abstract
Gas hydrate has been synthesized and then decomposed in artificial cores. The temperature, pore pressure, acoustic properties (including Vp, Vs, amplitude and frequency) and water content of the sample are measured and analyzed. The result reveals that the methods we called temperature-pressure detecting method, ultrasonic detecting method and TDR detecting method are sensitive to detect gas hydrate in sediment. However, the formation rate of gas hydrate is thought to be too fast, which is not suitable to give a detailed research on acoustics of the gas hydrate bearing sed cial cores should be used to study and subsequently give reasonab ment. It is suggested that longer artifi e explanations on some intriguing phenomenan.
