EAST BOUNDARY OF THE COLLISION BELT BETWEEN SINO-KOREAN AND YANGTZE PLATES IN EASTERN CHINA AND THEIR EXTENSION IN THE SEA

  • This study tries to summarize various standpoints on the Collision belts of Sino-Korean and Yangtze Plates, analyze the main discrepancies, based on the data of gravity and magnetic anomaly, characteristics of faults, and seismic profiles research progress on fault distribution in the area, and other research achievements of the Sulu HP-UHP metamorphism terrane were carefully reviewed. Upon the facts, we propose that the Collision belts of Sino-Korean and Yangtze Plates is same as the Sulu HP-UHP metamorphism terrane-Qianliyan uplift. The collision belt is bounded by the Wulian-Qingdao-Muping fault in the north and the Lianyungan-Huangmei fault in the south. The Southern Qianliyan Fault was reversed to be a normal fault at Late Cretaceous, and it controlled Cenozoic deposit of the Northern South Yellow Sea Basin.
