ANALYSIS ON SEQUENCE FORMATION STYLES OF ZHU-3 DEPRESSION IN PEARL RIVER MOUTH BASIN

Zhu-3 depression in Pearl River mouth basin was a typical dustpan-like basin, its sequence formation frameworks were controlled by main faults, especially south faults of Zhu-3 depression. Because of differences in activities of south faults of Zhu-3 depression, there were different framework styles in the east, center and west of the depression. Three typical sequence formation styles were recognized in Zhu-3 depression, they were gentle slope style, steep slope style controlled by faults and fault terrace style. For it was gentle slope background in the slope belt between Wenchang-A sag and Yangjiang swell,and between Wenchang-B sag and Qionghai swell, gentle slope style was developed there, and basin floor fan, slope fan or low-stand wedge were also developed. Steep slope style controlled by faults was developed in the hanging walls of main faults such as south faults of Zhu-3 depression. And fault terrace style was developed in the center of depression.
