THE COMPARISON RESEARCH OF DEEP WATER HYDROCARBON GEOLOGIC CONDITIONS BETWEEN SHELF MARGIN BASIN OF NORTH SCS AND CAMPOS BASIN

  • The South China Sea(SCS) is the biggest marginal sea of West Pacific, and the deep water areas of northern SCS lie in the south of Qiongdongnan basin and Zhujiangkou basin. The basic research on hydrocarbon, reservoir, trap and reservoir model of North SCS shows that these areas have superior oil geologic conditions and big valid prospecting area and potential. Campos basin is a petroliferous basin formed between Mesozoic and Tertiary and lies in the margin of Brazil Pacific, and its inner oil fields such as Ga roupa, Carapeba, Namorado, Roncador and Marlim have huge geologic reserves. Of the development of these oil fields, we have known more and more about the deep water hydrocarbon systems. In this paper, we will compare the geologic conditions of deep water hydrocarbon between these two areas in the aspects of hydrocarbon condition, reservoir, trap and reservoir model, and try to have a comprehensive understanding of the North SCS.
