Abstract:
Element distribution,corrections and assemblages of surface sediments from Taixinan area in the northeastern South China Sea are studied in the article. The results show that SiO
2 and Al
2O
3 are the most important components in the surface sediments, that element contents change with water depth and granularity, that R fator analysis gives three assemblages which represent fine-grained terrestrial chips, coarse-grained biological materials and fine biological materials, and that genetically surface sediments in the studied area mostly come from continent and secondly from biology.
