全球三维古地理重建及其地质意义

GLOBAL 3D PALEOGEOGRAPHIC RECONSTRUCTION AND ITS GEOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS

  • 摘要: 地史时期全球古地理重建长期以来一直是地质学家们研究的兴趣所在,自A Wegener大陆漂移学说催生第一代古地理图至今,从古大陆再造到古地理重建,从固定论到活动论再到计算机三维可视化成图,从单一因素制图到多因素综合编图,古地理重建方法日渐成熟。提出"古地理系统"概念,即利用古地磁、古生物、岩相古地理、构造古地理以及地球化学等多种方法相辅相成定量研究来重建三维立体古地理格局;通过探讨全球尺度古海陆格局、古地貌地理、生物古地理、岩相古地理以及构造古地理等5个方面重建的方法技术,来阐述古地理系统重建的可能性,并重在定量重建古地理系统;全球古地理系统的建立,不仅对于石油、天然气、天然气水合物等矿产资源的预测、勘探以及开发具有十分重要的指导意义,而且对探讨超大陆、超大洋的形成机制也可提供重要科学依据。

     

    Abstract: Reconstruction of global paleogeography has long been the interest of geologists. Since A. Wegener drew the first generation of paleogeographic map for his theory of continental drifting, paleogeographic reconstruction methods have passed a long way from paleocontinent reconstruction to paleogeographic reconstruction, from fixism to mobilism, from mapping with single factor to mapping with multiple factors, from two-dimensional mapping to three-dimensional computer made visualized paleogeographic maps. This paper proposes the term of "paleogeographic system" based on the viewpoint that it is mature to make the integration of paleomagnetism, paleontology, lithofacies, paleogeography, tectonomorphologic and geochemical methods quantitatively for three-dimensional palaeogeographic reconstruction in order to restore the ancient global pattern of continents and oceans, and relic ancient landforms. Paleogeography, biogeography, lithofacies and paleogeography, and tectonic paleogeography are the key elements for quantitative reconstruction of the paleogeographic system. Reconstruction of global paleogeographic system is of significance not only for research and exploration of mineral resources, but also for revelation of the mechanism of the formation and disintegration of the supercontinent or superocean.
